Good deeds you can do during Ramadan

Ramadan is a month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The Muslims fast in this month from dawn to sunset. It is the month of the revelation of the Quran.

Fasting is an essential pillar of Islam. Lalatul-Qadar, “the Night of Power,” is an important night celebrated in the last ten days in the month. Allah forgives the sins of those who mainly worship in this night.

There are several Ahadith and the Ayah of the holy book of the Quran, which confirms its importance as the fundamental pillar of Islam.

It is the month of blessings and rewards. We should prepare ourselves adequately to get benefit from this month. One often thinks about what good deeds can I do in Ramadan? We can get our answer in the following.

Good deeds you should do during Ramadan

Prophet Muhammad SAW and his companion continued to prepare themselves for Ramadan 6 months before. There is a list of good deeds and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, which we can adopt and earn blessing and rewards from Almighty Allah.

1. Focus upon the Quran

It is one of the good deeds for Ramadan. Ramadan is the month of blessings and rewards. In order to get these rewards, we as Muslims should recite the Quran more.

Similarly, we can memorize the Surah of the Quran in order to recite in the Nafal Prayers during Ramadan. We should give more and more attention to the Quran.

2. Fasting

In the month of Ramadan, we should fast in the whole month if we are eligible. There has been the promise of punishment of Almighty Allah, who does not fast in the month of Ramadan.

Moreover, it is the month of blessing and rewards. We should not turn it the month of punishment due to our actions. Allah’s mercy tries to find us in the month of Ramadan.

3. Pay charity and Zakat in the month of Ramadan

It is the rules and regulations of Allah that he awards someone with many resources and some people with short resources. We are bound by Our Almighty Allah to help these poor and needy people. In the month of Ramadan, we should help these poor at the start of this month. It is necessary because these people also need to make preparation for the month of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid.

Similarly, Zakat should be paid as early as possible due to the needs of the people. In Islamic government systems, there is Bait-ul-mal, which is responsible for collecting the Zakat and charities to distribute in the poor.

4. Offering Dua

It is necessary for us to offer Dua. People have different needs in their daily life. It is better to fulfill the needs with the help of Almighty Allah. There is no one better than our Almighty Allah in fulfilling our needs.

Similarly, it is necessary for us to get our sins forgotten. We do a lot of bad deeds in our daily life. That is why it is essential to offer dua. Otherwise, we will meet with punishment.

We should repent on our sins. Allah is merciful. He must forgive our sins and bad deeds.

5. Following Sunnah in every act

It is necessary to follow Sunnah in every work. We should make an example of the Sunnah in every kind of work.

Prophet Muhammad SAW did not only give direction in every field of life, but he implemented it in his own life. That’s why there is no better example existing rather than our Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW.

The holy book of the Quran is also our guider. We should take help from this holy book.

Allah says in the Quran, “Sah, O Muhammad, if you really love Allah, then follow me, God will surely love you will also forgive your sins. No doubt, Allah is merciful.”

The importance of following Sunnah, particularly in the month of Ramadan, becomes more important due to double rewards.

6. Go to the mosque regularly

It is necessary for the Muslims to offer prayer in the mosque in the congregation. There are several blessings and rewards of offering prayers in the mosque.

For example, in a Hadith, Prophet Muhammad SAW said,” To offer one prayer in the mosque is equal to the rewards of 27 prayers. “

Particularly, in the holy month of Ramadan, it is of utmost importance to offer prayer in the mosque. It makes it easy for us to offer prayer in time. In the month of Ramadan, the rewards for good deeds become more than double. 

That is why; we should offer prayer in the mosque.

7. Visiting a sick person

If someone is on your neighbor or in your relative, become ills. It is the duty of Muslims to visit him. We should meet his needs. We should care for her children. If he needs some financial help, we should help him financially. Particularly in the Ramadan, we should do this because the reward for every good act becomes double. There is a lot of awards promising on this occasion.

It is also the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW and his companions.

8. Expend invitation to the fasting person

First of all, it is the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW to invite a fasting person to break the fast with you in your home. We should also invite the fasting person.

Allah feels pleasure and happiness over the person who invites the fasting person.

Prophet Muhammad SAW said,” Those who invite the fasting person, he will have his blessings from Almighty Allah without creating deficiency form the blessing of the fasting person.”

9. Spend time with your elders and Youngers

It is the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and his companions. Prophet Muhammad SAW said,” if the person sees his parents with the glance of satisfaction and sympathy, he will receive the rewards equal to one Hajj and Umra.”

This Hadith describes the importance held by the parent given by Islam.

Similarly, in another Hadith, Prophet Muhammad SAW said,” the one who does not respect our elders and does not love our younger ones, he is not from us.”

These Ahadith describes the importance of amicable relation between us held by the religion of Islam.

10. Worships on Laylatul Qadr” The night of Power.”

There are different names of this night, for example, the night of value, the night of Measure, and the night of destiny.

All the Muslims in the world believe that is the night when the Ayah of the Holy book of Quran revealed the first time. According to the Ahadith, the worship of this night becomes more than the blessings of 1000 months.

In the Quran, Allah has given so many references for this night.

For example, Allah says, “ We have indeed become visible (this message)in the night of power.”

In another place, Allah says,” Peace …unless the rise of dawn.”

Prophet Muhammad SAW said,” one who spends the nights of Ramadan in offering prayer out of faith and hope of blessing, Allah will forgive his sins. “

 According to some scholars, Lalatul Qudr happens at the 27 nights of Ramadan, while some scholars say that the Night of Power is not specific.

Laylatul Qadr is the night of blessing and rewards. We should try our best to gain these blessings and rewards.

11.Offering Itekaf

Prophet Muhammad SAW said, “ One who did Atekaf for one day for Allah’s sake, Allah would keep the fire away from him.”

Itekaf is the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW. We should also perform Itekaf. According to the Ahadith, Prophet Muhammad SAW did Itekaf every year. In the year of death, Prophet SAW did Itekaf of 20 days.

Commonly, itakaf comprises ten last days of the month of Ramadan.

12. Offering traveeh Prayer

Offering traveeh prayer is actually the blessings of God. It is the special prayer of the month of Ramadan. It comprises 20 Rakah.

It is not obligatory, although it is necessary to offer the traveeh prayer. It is also the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW.

13. Forgive others and make contact with annoyed people

The month of Ramadan is the month of blessing and rewards, which is waiting for us to have. It is common practice that people develop resentment and anger in their daily dealings of life.

It is the important duty of Muslims to remove these resentments and feelings of anger. It is also the Sunnah of the beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW.

14. Expand the use of greeting

The greeting is another essential thing that gives us a lot of rewards.

Abu Imamah reported that Prophet Muhammad SAW said,” The best people near Almighty Allah are those who become first to greet with Peace.”

According to the Quran, Allah says, “when one of you enter any of these houses, first greet one another with a pure, blessed and nice salutation appointed by Allah.”

We should expand the use of greetings. In reply to these greetings, Allah will bless us.
